Chrisette Michelle Gets GANGSTA... And Goes Completely BALD!

If you haven't already heard, there's a big ta-do about singer Chrisette Michelle shaving her head completely bald. In a recent interview, the singer explains her reasons for the big-chop-a-roo:

"I was tired of black sista’s feeling subject to having their hair pressed and straightened, and damaged, with relaxers, and heat. So I wanted to make short and nappy hair fashionable, and let the industry know that there is nothing wrong with the texture that we have been born with. So I plan to grow it out to the big beautiful nappy hair that I have.”

I personally don't see why there is such "shock and awe." She looks absolutely beautiful. All of this makes me think about the different reasons sistas go natural. Me? Well, I did the big chop-a-roo twice. Each time, different reasons. The first was the same as Chrisette. I was just sick and tired of being sick and tired. The second was after a bad breakup. I thought I needed a change. Before I cut it, I was miserable. After I cut, I was just BALD and MISERABLE. LOL. Nothing changed. Here's the thing though... It may not be life-changing but I do think going natural teaches you an important lesson about yourself regardless of why you do it.

Venus and Serena Williams Serve It Up Proper!

Venus and Serena Williams sure have come a long way since the beaded-braided look back in the day. I used to rock beads when I was 4 years old. But I would've been mad as hell if my mama had made me wear that same hairstyle in high school like the Williams sisters did. Damn, Mama Williams! Why you do them girls dirty like that? But truth be told, I don't care if the Williams sisters wear beads or macaroni noodles in their hair. These 2 are great role models and make me so extremely proud! It's amazing to see how they've blossomed into such beautiful, talented women. The two were featured in the November 2008 issue of Harper's Bazaar. If I'm not mistaken, I think Venus is rockin a natural. Don't they look great?

According to Rap-up.com, the ever-so-fly Ms. Keisha Cole is expected to release her new album, entitled "A Different Me" in December. She looks incredible on the cover! Way to do it, mama! Classy... not ass-y!! I'm loving the pixie cut, her make-up game is on point, and she's in great shape. Word is, she's been up in the gym just workin on her fitness and it has obviously paid off! Having natural hair, I know it's easy to get caught up rockin the same hairstyle day in and day out. Well, here's a way to shake things up a bit! Lately I've seen several celebrities like Beyonce, Eva Pigford, Jessica Alba, and Sienna Miller working this lovely braided do'. It's perfect for a first date or any occasion where you want a look that's pretty, flirty, and romantic. It's funny because I used to wear my hair like this all the time. Hair Madness at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards

The 2008 MTV Video Music Awards aired last night. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Toccara Jones, Pink, Ciara, and Danity Kane showed up for the star-studded affair. The show always proves to be an exciting night for fashion, so ofcourse I was kicking myself in the butt for missing the show. However, from what I heard, and quite honestly by the looks of it, I really didn't miss much. Lawd HAMmercy! What kind of hair madness am I witnessing?! I mean, with the exception of fashion goddess Rihanna, nobody else really came with it like I needed them to (in the hair department)! I'm kinda diggin' Ri Ri's faux-hawk 'do. But other than that, all I see is mess, after mess, after HOT. FUNKY. MESS! When the Jonas Brothers are rockin better hair than all the ladies, you know we have a problem! Brandy Rocks The Pocahontas Look in Her New Video "Right Here (Departed)"

It's OFFICIAL! B-Rocka is back yawl! And she is looking as FIERCE and FLY as ever! While I was a little disappointed in her decision to drop this song as her first single, I decided to forgive her this time because... well, just look at her! She is really killin' 'em with her new look! The video may seem kinda random and borderline boring, but I think the video may have alot to do with the whole ordeal she experienced with the car accident in early 2007 that claimed a woman's life. Just look at the passion in her eyes when she's singing. It may not translate very well but it really is quite powerful and to be honest, it gave me chills. It's a testament to B's strength and resilience that has enabled her to overcome such a tragic event.

One thing that can't be denied is her incredible, flawless beauty. She looks AMAZING and her lace front game is most definitely on point! I'm feeling the Pocahontas look (wear she rocks it long, black, and straight). Oh and peep the false eyelashes and gold earrings. Love em! Check out Ms. Sydney Portier, the lovely daughter of legendary actor Sidney Portier. I just LOVE how her and her pops share the same name. Too cute! The stunning actress and her equally beautiful, long, natural, brown curls have appeared on popular TV shows like Veronica Mars, Grey's Anatomy, and a Quentin Tarantino movie, Death Proof. Janelle from MTV's The Real World Needs A Pot of Hot Grits! ASAP!

If you are a reality tv junkie, like myself, then you probably couldn't peel your eyeballs away from the tv screen during this season of MTV's Real World: Hollywood. Last week's finale promised non-stop scandal and it certainly didn't disappoint. Even though Janelle was on The Real World: Key West a few years back, her and her beautiful, curly, sun-kissed ringlets made a couple recent appearances as Will's girlfriend on this latest season. Don't you just LOVE her hair? She has perfect curl formation and I've never see it dry or frizzy. I like how she switches up the color, too. I've seen her rock everything from honey blonde to several chocolate hues.

Now, initially this post was suppose to be about Janelle's luscious locks. But instead I feel compelled to address Will's stankish, scheming, and scandalous ways. Those of you that keep up with the show know exactly what I'm talking about! Did any of you peep how shiesty this cat was on the show? See ladies, this is why you got to keep Al Green's ex-wife on speed dial, so she can come throw a pot of hot grits on your man when he ain't acting right! Nothing will rehabilitate a cheating man like the fear of hot grits burning the crack of his naked, cheating behind! (lol! Just kidding, I in no way advocate violence... but "hot grits"... that's some funny *ish). Anyhoo, for all of you who missed it, this is how it all went down... Will cheated on Janelle with one of his roommates, cheated AGAIN (but this time he made it a foursome), admitted to crying fake crocodile tears to get her back, and then moved into her house after the show was over without ever spilling the beans. Can you believe Janelle didn't even find out what went down until AFTER seeing the show air on MTV with the rest of the shows' millions of viewers!? Ladies, please take a long, hard look at this gutta-butt heathen. Keep your running shoes in your Louis Vuitton bag! If you ever see him coming, you better "Flo-Jo" it and don't look back! I just have one word for this boy. TRIFLING! Janelle, you and your hair are TOO FLY for that foolishness!

Teyana has that natural "hair swag". Her hair game is always on point. She wears it confidently and she wears it well. You can tell the way she rocks it is a reflection of her creativity and uniqueness, and I think her hair is certified HOTNESS! I've heard a few people say that her hair isn't real.
