Although lately I've been hearing that some natural beauties swear by the "Denman Brush" for curl formation. Because I currently wear my hair in a protective style (and curl formation isn't currently what I'm trying to achieve), the Denman isn't really necessary for me. For some, it may be an option though. Who knows? Maybe one day soon I'll give the old Denman a go and then I'll let you know if it gets the "thumbs up" or not. I guess I can't really knock it till I try it, right? For now though, I'm sticking to my guns (especially when it comes to regular bristled brushes). When used correctly, a wide-tooth comb should be more than enough to get the job done!

I have to attest to the amazingness of the Denman brush...it works wonders on my natural hair. I actually feel like it's more gentle than a wide-tooth comb, although I know that can't possibly be true :)
If it helps, Tracee Ellis Ross uses a Denman. And she has great hair...that's what made me try it!
I know, I've heard so many amazing things about this brush! Girl, my fingers are just ITCHING to try it!
Do you use it for detangling, curl formation, or both? Anybody else use a Denman?
Soooo, I am not the only one who advocates no brushing. I also do not comb. I only use my fingers and talk about curl formation. It's glad to hear that I am not the only one. Since I stopped brushing my hair, I am approached all the time and asked my how I get my hair to look that this way. I wish I had a camera for the side eye action I get when I say I don't use a brush or comb. But it's the truth and I don't have any breakage.
Btw, cool blog.
@ urban curlz- yup, I'm the same exact way! lol!
