Hot Toolz: Wide-Tooth Comb

If you find yourself dreading when it's time to comb out your curly kinks, then go cop yourself a wide-tooth comb. Mine looks like this but without the shorter teeth (shown here). Actually, the wider the teeth, the better. Our hair is extremely fragile. This comb does the job without all the unnecessary stress. Ditch those fine-tooth combs ASAP! It'll only pull and damage the hair. You'll be left with more hair in the comb than you have on the top of your head! And trust me, that's not a good look!

I'm wondering whether or not I need a fine-toothed comb. I still end up with a lot of shed hair with a wide-toothed comb. Any recommendations? Maybe a Denman brush? My hair is fine.

Amina- I think I bought it from a store called Meijer. Depending on where you live, there may or may not be one in your area. You should def be able to purchase one at any "black hair and beauty store"!

G- The only time I use a fine tooth comb is when I'm trimming my ends. With conditioner in my hair, I comb and detangle w/ a wide- tooth comb 1st. Then, small section by section, I comb through with a fine tooth comb, trim the ends, then move to the next section. That should really help with shedding and the tiny "knots" that sometimes form on the ends of the hair. Hope this helps!

Oh and I def don't believe in brushes!
