Bianca, from Cycle 9 of America's Next Top Model, was recently featured in a skincare article in Essence Magazine. I am so glad to see that she kept the clean-shaven do' that she got during her makeover on the show. I think her attitude also got a makeover because the last time I saw her in an interview she didn't act as mean-spirited and stankish as she used to. Anyway, whether you love her or hate her, you have to agree that Bianca looks absolutely stunning in this pic!
I remember how she fought like hell during that makeover. As soon as they told her that her new look would be a buzz-cut instead of a new weave, you best believe there was crying, weeping, and gnashing of teeth! Her weave was a dried up, piping hot, stir-fried mess! Her hair was extremely damaged and yet she was still desperately clinging and holding on to the Yaki for dear life! It sounds funny but I certainly cannot pass judgement. I, too, have shamefully been there before. Maybe some of you can also relate.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with perms or weaves. Heck, I'll even rock a weave from time to time just to spice things up. But when you feel like you are anything less than beautiful without these things, then there's definitely a problem. Ladies, your natural hair is stronger, healthier and more beautiful than anything you will ever find in a perm box or an 8 ounce bag of Yaki. Trust and believe! Sometimes it can be easier said than done, but we must learn to love ourselves. I'm so proud of Bianca. She finally let go of the Yakety Yak Yaki... and look at her now! Here's a video clip of Bianca's transformation...
